Hi gang.

Been in India the past 4 weeks mainly up North and recently left Goa. I'm leaving Hampi tonight on a night train to Mysore and im kinda stumped as to where to go from there.

I fly home from Kochi 4th November which gives me 12 nights left. I'd like to head south to see some natural landscapes and maybe a bit of trekking but I'm getting conflicting information as to how affected by the recent flooding destinations are.

Ideas are Munnar, Ooty or Kodai Kanal? Then maybe head towards the coast for Varkala and Allepey, finishing in Kochi?

Is Mysore to Munnar/Ooty etc doable with relative ease transport wise?

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated, im open to anything.

Mysore to Ooty is well connected by bus. Spend a couple of days in Coonoor.

Take a bus to Coimbatore or Udumalpet and take another bus to Munnar.

For trekking: consider this:
Kumbakkarai (near Periyakulam) - Vellagavi (8km) - Vattakanal (7km) - Kodaikanal(5km), a 20km trek going from 400m alt to 2200m is supposed to be a bit tough but not too much and can be done in a day or two.

Ooty and Kodai are not affected much by floods. Munnar was affected, but getting back to near normal.
