Hello Everyone,

So Iíll get to the point right away......

Iím in Pushkar till the 30th of December and am planning to go to Rishikesh after anyways.

Thought Iíd skip Delhi for New Years - had 10 New Years growing up in London so what can it give me right???

For the 31st though I was wondering whether not I should stay in Pushkar or make this long journey to Rishikesh to get there just in time for New Years. Not after booze - everything else is all good lol

Really donít know know how to decide but I think Rishikesh will have some people at the hostels doing things, maybe reaching Ďstates of higher consciousnessí maybe Pushkar will be the same or be better fireworks....I dunno!

Might as well add some fun facts for taking the precious time and effort to help me...

My name is part of Rishikesh

My ancestry is around Pushkar

Lol!

Thanks guys/ gals

One word. Fog. I'd stay in Pushkar (a really fun place!) unless you want to face the possibility of spending NYs on the train
It might be the best of times or the worst of times...but it's the only time you've got!

Spiritually, both towns are not known for NYE - The celebrations in those towns are more like Shivratri, Janamastmi, etc...

You would have to spell out what is "fun", and what is "cool", before someone can comment on where to go looking for such activities

Well Iíve done London for many years growing up so Iím not expecting that....but for that reason I skipped Delhi altogether.

Ok, so.....By that time I will have done the spiritual stuff....not done, done lol....hopefully it will infuse into everything else

- decent, interesting, Ďfuní! tourist or mordern Indian type population?

- events or some functions for a younger crowd?

- state altering means of enhancement that are not alcohol?

* whatís your idea of fun and where would you chose Pushkar vs Rishikesh nycank?

* Sab kuch milega.......why did you say Pushkar is a Ďreally fun placeí - any things you could care to point out in particular??

I think, actually, good points have been made about both Pushkar and Rishikesh in terms of NYE, holy cities usually have more emphasis on religious holidays...if you're in Pushkar and are really keen on having a good NYE maybe check out bigger more cosmopolitan cities...

I do love Pushkar and had Christmas there once but it's all pretty low key. I just happen to like Pushkar but I guess I wouldn't call it a party town! Let us know what you decide

Do you mean Delhi as in to go to a club bar or music function?

With that in mind are you ranking Pushkar and Rishikesh the same?

Also whatís the tourists like in Pushkar - mixed groups?

Thanks!

I think if you want a NYE western style experience, you should go somewhere other than Pushkar or Rishikesh, but I am not speaking from experience. Holy towns are not usually big on this stuff!

Out of these two places, Pushkar gets my vote. There are more tourist oriented venues and restaurants try to put on a do for New Year.
Try Krystal restaurant, they should have something on.
