Hi, I'm planning for a December last week trip to Goa and figured out a few beaches to check out. As I was reading through some blogs they say that the earliest I can book an hotel for this last rush/crazy week is Nov. end. I'd never been there so need your valuable advice.

I'm planning a week long stay with major energy exhaustion.

I'm thinking about backpacking. So, should i book the hotel in advance. I wanna stay on Anjuna beach. or can i reach and be able to find a stay? Please suggest. Also, is it going to be expensive this way vs. pre-booking?

I'm gonna be starting from Hospet to Goa. What's the best mode of transport?and should i pre-book it or can i find something from Hospet to Goa random by checking out few private transport there?

I'll be thankful for your valuable suggestions. Help me the hit the right chord for the best enjoyment/travel. Thank you.

As for booking accommodation before you go or when you get to Goa, the choice is yours. Look at some booking sites at the cost of accommodation. You can get some reasonable deals by pre-booking, and on the other hand haggling the cost of a room may be better. The biggest downside is that if there is a shortage of accommodation when you arrive, they can charge whatever they feel they will get out of you.

You can travel from Hospet to Goa by train (18047/Amaravati Express) which is OK at a cost of Rs225 for sleeper class. the train leaves at 0630 and takes about 7.5 hours. The train runs on M W T S only.

Thanks Mike, that helps. As you say I think pre-booking will save some dough. Will do that. And thanks for the train info. Appreciate it.

Look here for your train info

You can book your trains through makemytrip, yatra or one of the other on-line booking sites or even a travel agency. The earlier you book your rail tickets the easier it is to get the train or seat you are after.

Thanks Mike, I'm on the site as well as searching on IRCTC. Planning to book AEAP. And I'm also pulling up some huts info on Anjuman beach and Arambul to book huts for stay. Early the better as you said.

Wonderful experiences, reviews and tips shared by you till now..

Thanks..
We are visiting goa next month end. My provide some tips for my queries below:
1. How is weather in september end
2. Should we book a taxi before online .from airport to hotel at calagante beach.. or wat is fare available on taxi at airport.. is taxi easily available at airport for 4 persons?

3. What is the price of Activa or bike or jeep.... some one mentioned 250-300per day for activa... what is price for jeep or four wheeler....so does it include petrol price? or it is separate...

4. Can we visit any place in goa by riding bike or jeep ourselves? if we go to fort then we have to park rented vehicle there.. is facility everywhere.. and is it safe?

5. We will have a infant with us. Can we get pram or stroller on rent there also? if yes what is price.

6. what suggestions are there for visiting with baby

7. for local sight seeing in addition to activa/jeep on rent, is bus service also good like to panjim .is it clean and good ac bus?

Thanks in advance.!!
