Hi Everyone,

I am a frequent visitor to this site and know many of you like a friend!

Me and my wife staying outside India decided to make this winter eventful by Work From Home in a hill station (India) for next two months!

We were looking for something comfortable and within out budget of around 35k per month. We need good internet connectivity and electricity to connect to office. View of mountains from room. Heater, water supply and kitchen.

We were thinking about Shimla Manali Dalhousie Dehradun Nanitaal but could not decide!

We already landed in Delhi! So friends please help with some options. Thank you.

No hills in Dehradun, it's almost in plains.
Electricity and net connection could be intermittent in Manali when it snows heavily during peak winter.
Shimla, Manali, Nainital will be too much crowded.

What about Bhimtal? Ranikhet? Mcleoadgunj? Or you wish to have snow capped mountain view from your room every morning??

Thank you Rajat.

No, its not like we want to see mountains every morning. We are looking for a place close to any of these towns, soothing, where we can relax and work without any hickup.

You could go to any one of them.

Work without any hickup could be difficult. Weather could cause problems with internet connectivity and electricity.

Thanks Aarosh. Will keep this in mind.

But one thing, India is much much more expensive than Dubai Greece or Bali etc.

We have booked a hotel for two nighta for INR 7500 but rhe room ia too small may be less than 150 sq ft. Washroom is unclean, hot water, night lamp, even door entry card anything not working. And this is in the posh area of New Delhi!

Sad!

For better value, reliable internet and constant supply of electricity, places in S E Asia cannot be beaten. Small towns in Thailand and Vietnam will suit your requirements perfectly. There will be no snow covered mountain views though.

The hotels near airport or Radisson, ITC group, park, holiday inn, crowne plaza should not be so bad!!
Is it possible to use the corporate tie-ups and pay personally? You may get a good deal in those business hotels.

Asked a single room in a old homestay in Mcleodgunj, he is asking 75000 without any cooking facility or heater!

With same amount one can stay in Dubai or Bangkok or Bali! This is crazy!

I am planning to go to Bali instead!

Thanks for all the helps.

So you landed in this great and beautiful country with zero research, did a spectacularly bad deal on a hotel room and are leaving for another country in two days flat?

Good luck! You need a lot of it.
