Jaisalmer and/or Udaipur?

I'm spending 3 weeks in India, and already decided my itinerary (Mumbai -> Jodhpur -> (Udaipur) -> Jodhpur -> Jaisalmer -> Delhi -> Varanasi -> Agra -> Jaipur -> Kerala)... though, a few people recommended me to include Udaipur on the list, I'm still not sure about it...

I thought about staying 2 1/2 days in Jaisalmer, and try to do a half a day camel safari, but I have been reading the threads on this topic and they gave me a bad impression for short camel safaris in Jaisalmer... is too touristy and not worthy if the safari is shorter than 2 days at least... what do you think about it?

And other thing, given my time constrains... should I skip the half day camel safari in Jaisalmer and exchange it for a day in Udaipur? Or better said, how many days would you recommend me to stay in Jaisalmer with and without camel safari, and if I go to Udaipur, can I make it in a daytrip from Jodhpur (another city I will visit)?

Thank you for your help!

Two and half days should be sufficient to cover all the places.it is truly worthwhile to visit Jaisalmer, the most colourful place i know. i am visiting Jaisalmer from 1st march onward once again.

Udaipur as a day trip from Jodhpur? Leave Udaipur in that case. Check out Osian instead.
