Hello Friends,

We are 2 couples who are planning to visit Chikmaglur and Sringeri from Bangalore from 2nd Oct to 4th October. I would be very thankful if you could help in preparing the itinerary and with some other details also.

Our tentative plan is as follows:

Oct 2 - Start to Chikmagaluru around 8 AM from Bangalore in Cab. Reach by 1-2 PM. Check-in. Lunch and go for sight seeing Athigundi, Honnamana Halla Falls
Oct 3 -> Trip towards Mullayangiri -> Sithalayan Math & Mullayangiri and baba budangiri caves
Oct 4 -> Sringeri
Around 4pm we plan to start from there, plan to reach bangalore by 9-10 PM

Few queries that I have is:
1. Is the itinerary good or we need to make some changes.

2. We have not yet finalized our accomodation at Chikamagaluru. Kindly suggest one. Our budget is 2-2.5k per couple per night.

3. Also suggest if we should be covering any points on our way to Chikamagaluru from bangalore.

4. Any suitable place for having breakfast on our way to Chikamagaluru.

4. How would be the weather like at Chikamagaluru. Do we need to carry any woollens.

5. Please provide any other information that could be useful so that we can enjoy our trip to the fullest.

Thanks

We did an identical trip last month from Bangalore. The itinerary seems fine. You can keep the first day for lake in Chikmaglur [forgot the name] and some places in Chikmaglur town area.
The second day can be devoted to Mullyangiri and the falls. Let me re-verify the name of the falls once I am home. Don't remember them. There were two falls. One on the road while the other needed a walk of around 1 km in the jungle. Beware of leeches while on the way down to the falls.

I do not know what is there in Sringeri and cannot compare it to Chikmaglur. If you plan to not go to Sringeri, you can go to kemmanagundi and exit to Bangalore from there. You need not come down to Chikmaglur again.

At Chikmaglur we stayed in a homestay called Mountain Valley. It was excellent with good value for money and excellent food.

The climate would be pleasant to windy-light chilly. I don't think you would need woolens.
Carry a light wind breaker jacket though. Mullyangiri can get windy with rain.
