If you had 7 days in India in July, where would you go?

I will be in Hyderabad on business for 2 weeks in July, and I can only manage to add on a week for travelling.

I know it will be hot and wet in the south. So, for my travel time I plan to head north for 4 days in Leh, then come back to Delhi/Agra for 3 days before returning to Canada. My interests are nature, architecture and food.

Undoubtably I will return to India again, for business and pleasure. I have been planning a month-long trip to Rajastan for a few years now. This trip to Hyderabad has caught me off guard.

If you had only 7 days in July as a first-time visitor to India, how would you spend them?

I presume you are flying from Delhi to Leh and back, which would mean a couple of days to acclimitise in Ladakh. I would think most of your week would be used up there.

Read the excellent AMS threads by vistet and others on this site.

Of course, your 3 days in Delhi is covered here http://www.indiamike.com/india/delhi...ginner-t56239/

7 days, I would spend them either all in Ladakh or Delhi/Agra/a little bit of Rajasthan, though it can be a little wet at this time.

Tamil Nadu, especially the Northern part, will be relatively dry. You could spend a whole relaxed week based in Chennai and visiting Kanchipuram, Mamallapuram, Pondicherry, and a handful of slightly further afield temple towns.

Last year it rained here in July; we can only hope, but it is not common.
Life gets aadhar every day.
