Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur)

Hi All IndiaMikers,

I am back with my new travelogue for our last trip for Golden Triangle at the end of Dec, 2017.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary:

Day 1 (23/12/2017) – Start journey for Golden Triangle.

Pack our bags with lot of woolen dresses and air masks for Delhi .

We are altogether 4. Me, my wife and 2 sons (8 and 3 years).

We availed Sealdah Rajdhani Express @16:40. First time experience the Rajdhani express.

Day 2 (24/12/2017) - Explore the capital of India (Delhi)

We have booked our whole journey with They have arranged all the hotels and a cab for whole journey.
Start our wonderful excursion from New Delhi. On arrival at the railway station, begin our journey, head towards Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India.

Also visit Red Fort − a famous historical fort which houses a number of museums.

Then we visit the places such as Raj Ghat, Kishan Ghat and Shantivan memorials dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, Chaudhary Charan Singh and Jawaharlal Nehru on the banks of Yamuna River.

Then, head to India Gate (War Memorial), a 42-m-high memorial located at the center of New Delhi.
Also, drive past Parliament House, North & South Block and the Rashtrapati Bhavan which was formerly known as Viceroy’s House, an official home of the President of India.
We were able to enter the gate of Rashtrapati Bhavan around the evening, where we observed the change of Guard procedure for 30 min, good to watch.

Later, head back to the hotel White Clove Delhi for an overnight stay.

Day 3 (25/12/2017) - Agra − home to the Taj Mahal (Delhi-Agra)

On day three, check out from the hotel and head towards Agra.

On the way visit Taj Mahal, India’s most famous icon, known for its mesmerizing beauty. It was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. This famous monument is open on all days except Fridays.
We visited the Taj Mahal on 25th Dec. So the rush is there. We manage to buy foreign tickets with the help of a guide, otherwise we will not able to visit Taj Mahal on that day.

Later we visited Agra Fort.

At the end of the day, return to the hotel Siris 18 – A boutique hotel @Agra and rest for the night.
Ambience of the hotel was good.

Day 4 (26/12/2017) - Discover the Pink City (Agra-Jaipur)

Early morning checked out from the Agra hotel.

Visit the Buland Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world.
Then we also visited the Fatehpur Sikri, which was founded by a 16th-century Mughal emperor, Akbar.
Discover the essence of the city and unfold the historical past while you visit the splendid places. This is beside the Buland Darwaza.

On the way visited Monkey Temple (Galta Ji), where whole area is under the control of monkeys.

After visiting those points we checked in at the hotel RnB Select hotel at Jaipur.
They have complimentary breakfast and dinner for us. Ambience of the hotel was also good.

Day 5 (27/12/2017) - Forts, palaces, and temples (Jaipur)

Get ready to visit the most famous forts and palaces of the Pink City on the fifth day of the trip.
The city of Jaipur mesmerizes you with its sights and sounds. Get delighted by the architectural mastery of the age-old monuments.

Now, get ready to start your wonderful exploration with Amber Fort. The stunning fort consists of an extensive palace complex. Get awestruck by the stunning structure, which is constructed from yellow and pink sandstone, and white marble.
Before visiting Amber Fort, on the way we visit Jal Mahal, which is situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur. This place offers breath-taking views of the lake and the hills surrounding it.

After visiting Amber Fort, we reach the Jaigarh Fort in the upper hill area.

Then we visit the magnificent observatory, Jantar Mantar. Situated near City Palace and Hawa Mahal, the place features stone and brass instruments. It presents the world’s largest stones sundial and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Then, visit the beautiful Hawa Mahal, which is constructed from red and pink sandstone.
Later, we pay a visit to City Palace which includes the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, and other famous buildings. We didn’t visit Chandra Mahal as it costs Rs. 2000 per person.

My wife bought few Bandhani Saree from Jaipur.

After a day of exploration, head to the same Jaipur hotel and unwind.

Day 6 (28/12/2017) - Explore the beauty of Delhi(Jaipur-Delhi)

Check out from the hotel in the morning to travel back to Delhi and on the way visited the most famous historical site of the city, Qutab Minar, a 73-m-high tower of victory, which was built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak.
Stayed at the same hotel of Delhi.

Day 7 (29/12/2017) – Few more in Delhi (before depart from Delhi)

We have a train (Sealdah Satabdi Express) booking at the evening, so planned to visit few remaining points of Delhi.
So we hire an additional Cab.
First we visited Lotus Temple at Bahai.
Then we visited famous Akshardham Temple. Swaminarayan Akshardham is the third-largest Hindu temple by area
Then we visited Chandni Chowk − one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi.
We have tasted the famous paranthas of Paranthawale galli. We also did shopping at the local markets which are popular for handicrafts and antique items.

Day 8 (30/12/2017)
Our 7 days of amazing expedition comes to an end on this day. Reached Sealdah railway station safely.
It was a successful trip and we enjoyed a lot in this trip.
