Hi all
I am staying in goa for 7 weeks and would like to see Mysore,Pondicherry, Hampi. I would like to do it as a round trip between Christmas and new year.
does anyone know the best way to do this.

Hello Kevin and welcome to indiamike.

You're doing the right thing in getting out of Goa for Xmas and New Year, but it's going to take a lot of planning, and whatever you do, don't spend too little time in Hampi, at the very least, 3 full days, it's a real special place and the opposite of everything that is tourist Goa.

The distance to Pondi is the problem, you're best to start with a flight from Goa to Chennai, then on to Pondi, use www.ixigo.com to find the flights, there is a direct flight, but I'm not sure if it operates daily.

Then get a train from Pondi to Bangalore, then from Bangalore to Mysore (train 16536 to avoid changing stations).

Then from Mysore to Hospet (for Hampi), then eventually, Hospet to Madgaon.

Not all those trains run daily, so careful planning needed.

You need to learn how to book tickets, then book them 4 months in advance.

Click here for an article explaining how to set up an account for booking train tickets.
