We have reseved our tickets to Jasidih Jn. from Varanasi to have Darshan of Shri Baidyanath Baba on 2nd Aug 2011. This is very first time we are visiting this temple. As I read many news clips on the net mentioning about huge number of people throng for darshan during Sraban month. If that is the case, do you think we can have a glimpse of lord Shiv before that evening as we have booked our return tickets by the night Amritsar express back to Varanasi. Please advise us if there is any possibility of having darshan by paying for spl. puja tickets(Arjit Sev) in advance, just like in Tirupati. We are a group of 6 in that 3 are in their late 60s.

Gopal
Dear Gopal jee,

I am extremly sorry for not responding on this. Not sure how was your darshan of Baba Baidyanath. As what you came to know was true about the rush in Sharavan month. And interestingly there are no paid service like tirupati.

the best season for people who are aged are after sharavan. or if they still plan for the auspisious month. then they have to wait for a day or two for having a darshan.

let us know what your experience was.

thanks

Thousands of kanwariyas queue up for darshan & to offer Ganga Jal to the Jyotirlinga during the month of Shravana, and it becomes difficult to have darshan in such a heavy rush.

IMO, if there is no compulsion of having darshan in the month of Shravana, a person should avoid visiting temple during the month, else be ready to face heavy rush!

I've visited eight out of twelve Jyotirlingas and three from Maharashtra was just in Nov and that too all three on the same day. You can also visit MahaKaleshwar and Omkareshwar of MP on the same day. I just posted this info. in Maharashtra thread related to Jyotirlingas.

If you want to see idol in it's original form at Bhimashankar, then go for 4:30am Aarti. They cover idol with Silver cover after 5:30am for devotees to perform Abhishek Pooja. I just visited all three Jyotirlingas(Bhimashankar/Trimbakeshwar/Girishneshwar) and performed Abhishek Pooja at each location in November on the same day.
My plan was as follow:
Day 1) Flew to Pune from Ahmedabad and checked in Blue Mormon near Bhimashakar Temple.
Day 2) Early morning Aarti/Abhishek Pooja at Bhimashankar - Left Bhimashankar by 6:00am - breakfast on the way to Nasik - reached Nasik by 11:30 am - Abhishek Pooja at Trimbakeshwar and left by 1pm for Girishneshwar - lunch on the way - reached luckily by 5:30pm just in time for last Abhishek Pooja for the day - Night stay at Hotel Kailash
Day 3) It was Tuesday so could not visit Ellora Caves and Ajanta Caves were just too far for my plan - visited Daultabad instead - left for Shirdi by 12:30pm - Shirdi Darshan and night sleeper bus to Ahmedabad

The best way to have darshan of MahaKaleshwar and Omkareshwar in one day is to take MP Tourism AC Bus.

The bus from Ujjain departs at 7:00 AM and the return journey starts at 4 PM from Omkareshwar which reaches back to Ujjain at 8 PM.

Please click here for details.

Mumbaihermit,
Jasidih Jn(JSME) is the closest Railway Station for Vaidyanathan. There are plenty of trains available from HWH - JSME --->http://erail.in/
Most train takes around 4-5 hrs but Rajdhani takes only 3:38 hrs.

You can get more info. here. http://www.babadham.org/index.php I've not visited this dham yet - if you could, please share your experience once you visit. Distance is 4 miles and takes 15-20 minutes if you take the local train.

There are also local trains from JSME - BDME(Vaidyanath Dham itself)...you can check the timings on erail.

Oundha Naganath and Parli Baijnath

My 1st Jyotirlinga darshan was at an age of 4, when I didn't eve know the word Jyotirlinga. We were having a month long stay in the picturesque 'Shimultala' and visited 'Deoghar' as a nearby attraction.
I had visited this place again a few years later, in the same way. This time it was a short trip to Shimultala.
My 2nd darshan was Bhimashankar, 3rd darshan was Trimbakeshwar in the same trip while staying in Pune. Though we visited Ajanta and Ellora in the same trip and stayed in Ellora also, we didn't visit Grishneswar, probably due to ignorance.
My 4th darshan was Biswanath at Varanasi and then the 5th was kedarnath, again in the same trip.
My 6th darshan was at the Naganath, Dwarka and the 7th was at Somnath, these two were also done in the same trip.
I intend to visit Oundha Naganath and Parli Baijnath now. As am staying in Pune, can do this in a long weekend. Has anyone visited these places and share some light on these?
@nanya

Yes. I have been to both, Aundha Naganath and Parli. Both can be easily visited in a day! I reached Parli a night before and asked the hotel guy to find me panda for Abhishek Pooja. We agreed on Dakshina and decided to meet at temple by 8:00am next day. Left Parli around 10am and was at Aundha nagnath by noon. Also hired a panda there for Abhishek pooja but could not complete pooja. It is in a small place below temple and there were too many people cramped in that small place. Left pooja half way.
Ive been to all twelve and two disputed one(Parli and Aundha) making a total 14 visits and that too on a Mondays. All the best to you!

Has anyone visited Srisailam with advanced booking done? On there site and other sites, quick darshan ticket is mentioned but for online booking, I could see only various Abhishekam and harathis. Any idea if I can book a quick darshan ticket in Advance? Our plan is to travel from Hyderabad on 25th December, start early and do the darshan and return on the same day.
