Hi folks!
First off, I need to commend the community at IndiaMike. So much info and so many helpful people! Discovering this site and reading through so many posts has really eased the planning phase of my trip to NE India.

We are about 4-6 people, and we have 10 days to spare.

This is the route we intend to take.

1. Arrival at Guwhati. Procure ILPs for Arunachal Pradesh at Guwhati. Start out for Tawang.
2. Tawang
Two days at Tawang - Jung falls, War memorial, Tawang Monastery, Shungetser(also known as Madhuri Lake), and China Border(optional)
3. Tawang to Bomdila (see the famous Sela Pass and Dirang enroute)
4. Spend a day or two in Bomdila going around the apple orchards/hiking trails. Move on to Bhalukpong/Nameri Eco Camp
5. Spend a day in Nameri - rafting etc. Spare another day if good.
6. Move on to Kaziranga and spend one/two days here.
7. Back to Guwhati and return journey home.

I have a few queries.
1.Do we need to halt at Tezpur?
2.What about Dirang? I read that there is no need to stop at Dirang, and I have not found much about what we can see there.
3.I read somewhere that we can experience white water rafting near Bhalukpong (on Jia Bhoreli). Is this true? What is Bhalukpong famous for?
4.I also came to know that there are government research centers which experiment on potatoes, apples etc. Where are they?

Any suggestions are most welcome! If you can give me the details of some other places that we can visit, something I missed out etc, it will be most helpful.

It is not possible to collect the ILPs at Guwahati and arrive in Tawang by road in the same day.(Are you planning for a helicopter ride?)

I assume that you'll be flying from Chennai. I suggest that instead of Guwahati, fly to Tezpur. From Tezpur hire a car for Bhalukpong a tiny town right on the border between Assam and Arunachal.

Next day from Bhalukpong drive to Bomdilla. In the afternoon visit the local monastery.

Next day start early and arrive in Tawang after traveling through Sela Pass and the Jung falls.

Spend at least two nights in Tawang. Visit the local attractions as you've mentioned. For a taste of proximity to China Border visit Bumla Pass.

Dirang is a little town right next to Jiabharali. On your way back from Tawang you'll need to spend a night here(instead of Bomdilla which you have already visited). Then from Dirang drive to the Nameri Eco Tourist Camp.(Rafting facility is available.)
Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by.
