My first ever visit to India is coming up! First, 9 days working in Bangalore, and then 5 days on my own starting from Delhi.

I've been given choices by Namaste Tours that all sound wonderful. Anyone have any advice to share? (and yes, I've read all the posts out there already... I'm now a sort of indiamike junkie)

option a) kesroli, agra
option b) kesroli, jaipur
option c) jamuna resort (jhunjhunu), jaipur
option d) jaipur, bharatpur, agra

I'm leaning toward option c, which sounds more relaxing, but option a, could work too.

Don't want to spend the whole time in a car.

Want to walk around, see the sights, get a feeling for the place, relax, be.

Namaste!

oooh, great pick. I just had the best trip with Namaste India Tours. Our driver (Hukam) was simply wonderful...I miss him now that I'm home. Maybe you can request him.....he's the bomb. if so, you can ask him about the two girls he drove over New Year's - that was us.

I don't know what Kesroli is.

Jamuna Resort is a nice place, with a very peaceful courtyard, rooms have a lot of character, and the restaurant was good. We didn't get to spend enough time in that region - there was a lot to explore. Not so much tourist attractions, but more like you'd drive through a town and want to get out and explore...lots of old buildings, no other travellers in sight. It seemed easy to walk around once you arrived in a town, though the car is necessary to get from one town to the next. We drove from Jhunjhunum through Mandawa and Fatehpur. In Fatehpur, our driver knew of a particular haveli that is in the process of being restored, so we got to see the inside of that one. On the other ones, we just took pictures from the outside. Apparently the guy who owns Jamuna Resort and Shiv Shekwavati does day-long tours of the area.

The drive to get there took forever though - I think it was about 8 hours from Delhi to Jhunjhunum. On the way, there is a rest stop where you can walk up a hill to see a gigantic statue of Hanuman.
