Hi there! I am arriving in India (Amristar) around 7th of February and will be staying for around 17 days.
I was thinking of going to Agra - Varanasi - Kolkata - Hyderabad (see some friends there)- Mumbay - Jaipur and catch the plain back from New Delhi.
As the distances are quite long and will be on backpackers' budget, will be travelling by nights trains (or 2 days trains ).
Is it a too much to visit in 17 days? (it seems much to me, but it's so hard to take something out).
Also what should I expect of February in India? Is it hard to book a hotel/trains (I'd rather not book too much in advance and keep the intinerary flexible). How is weather (I will visit Pakistan first so I will get warm clothes)?

any advice is welcome!
Pia

It is indeed too much to cram in 17 days, especially when you'll be travelling by train. I suggest your leaving out Kolkata and Jaipur.

February will be pretty comfortable travellingwise, but North India will be quite cold, hence woollens are a must. Hyderabad and Mumbai should be pleasant.
