Hi there,

We will only have a day and a half in Delhi at the end of our two week trip to India. I am keen to visit the following places: Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, Humayan's Tomb, Lodi Gardens, Safdarjung's Tomb

On day one our flight from Varanasi lands at 12.20 and we will have to get to our hotel, so can realistically not expect to be out and about sightseeing until 3pm.

Day two we have the full day including the evening.

What itinerary would you suggest for this very short time in Delhi to see the sights I have listed. Also, are there any sights you would recommend adding to my list given our very short time in the city? (e.g. there just doesn't seem to be time to see the Red Fort).

Many thanks

Do you have a hotel booked already or do you need suggestions?

Maybe the Jain temple and bird hospital, though since you mention you don't have time to see the Red Fort maybe not possible since it is located across from Red Fort. Maybe spend some time around Chandni Chowk, shop, eat, enjoy the total chaos and sensory overload.
Q: Ke garne?

A: Dal bhat khanne, maaya garne, sutne!

We haven't booked yet but were thinking of staying at Hotel City Star as it gets good reviews.

I guess you could go to Jama Masjid on the first day and have dinner there.

The next morning, after breakfast, take the metro to Qutub Minar, spend an hour, then take the metro to INA Market, pack a lunch at Delhi Haat, walk or tuk-tuk to Safdarjang Tomb, spend half an hour, then cross the road to Lodi Gardens and spend an hour, including eating your packed lunch. Then take a tuk-tuk to Humayun Tomb. I expect it'll be 3 pm by the time you reach Humayun tomb.
