Hi all

I am in India from 3-24th February 2011 and will be flying into Delhi at 11.10pm. I plan to go to Vrindavan in the morning (getting the train to Mathura sounds cheap and simple but it is at 4.40am. Any tips on where to stop for three/four hours? I know they have snooze cabins at T3 at the airport but I don't know what terminal I will arrive at.

Please look over my itinerary (far simpler than last time)

4-17 Feb: Vrindavan - temple trails, trips to Barsana, Gokul and surrounding areas.
Any tips from locals are much appreciated.

17 Feb: Fly from Delhi to Kolkata (I hope to stop the night at ISKCON Kolkata and then get a bus to Mayapur on 18th Feb at 6am
18-20 Feb: Stay in Mayapur and tour local area. Apparently there is a festival on so I can't get somewhere to stay after the 20th.

20-24: No idea???? Maybe occupy ourselves in Kolkata and then fly back to Delhi.
As my flight leaves Delhi at 1.45 am I was hoping to leave Kolkata airport on 23rd and arrive at Delhi with time to catch my flight back to UK. It seems messy to get a flight to Delhi and then visit surrounding area (hotels and taxis seem expensive).

Any tips on somewhere to stay in Mayapur/Kolkata would be much appreciated. I also don't know what there is to see in Kolkata so please advise. I haven't booked my internal flights yet, just the accommodation in Vrindavan so the rest of it can be adapted if you have some good ideas for me

Thanks all!
Next trip to India October 29th 2015

Hi, Do you like sea beaches. Then in between 20-24th you can go to some places nearby kolkata (like Shankarpur, Digha, Mandarmoni). You can go either by train (can reserve) or by road (AC buses available). Please check at your end, then I can tell you in details.

Hi there

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure my budget allows for the trip to Mayapur/Kolkata so I may be sticking to Delhi and Vrindavan area. I'll amend my post once I know for sure!

Great to hear from a local
