Mod Note: Since this thread is not strictly an itinerary thread, I have moved it to an appropriate forum.

I've never been to Ladakh, but I am sure it would be really nice too.
Another suggestion is to do a hill station tour in Himachel Pradesh or Uttarakhand. Both places are perfect in May also.
Every cloud has a silver lining!

Mountains no doubt but which part you will go depends on what you want to do and for how long.

Mahabaleshwar, Divaya gar, Lonavala > All cool places in May near Mumbai.
And for relax purpose unlike Ladakh track is for trekkers and possible risk too.
Above places are for relax. Also enjoy straberries @ Mahabaleshwar. Pretty cheap price out there.

Help Needed

Hi I'm trying to start new post and its not letting me. So i'm going to ask here:

I'm planning to visit India in End of June. I want to spend time in south India for 2 weeks and North India for 1 week.

I need a car+good driver. I want to visit Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry, kutralam, Thanjavur, Tiruchirapalli, Madurai, kodaikanal, Alleppey, coimbatore, Ooty, Mysore, Bangalore, Thirupathi and kanchipuram.

Does anyone know how much it will host for car+driver+accommodation?

Thank you

If you have to come in May and your dates are not flexible, then come to Himachal.. Many options depending on what kind of holiday you want...
A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.

Where to go in July/August?

I would spend all year in India myself but my 2 teenage sons are at school/uni and so the only times they could go would be July/August.I would so like to show them India and have a memorable trip with them before they don't want to go with me any more! Also I would like to encourage them to love India like I do.Could anyone suggest best places to go in July/August where it would not be raining all the time,or if not possible, less rain?
