Work Dress code

I am being sent to Gurgaon for a 3 week work placement. I work for a multinational and there is no formal dress code implemented. I was wondering what was considered as acceptable to wear for a woman in such an environment. I am aware that low cuts and tight tops are not a good idea but any other suggestions are welcome. Is a skirt below the knee ok or should I stick to trousers only?

Thanks in advance,

Trousers are always better than skirts. Still better if you can wear the Indian Salwaar-Kameez.

The first and foremost is, how you are travelling, if you are going there by public transport (buses) then dont wear skirts. But if you are provided a car by the company, then i think knee length skirt will do. A lot of my friends who travel by their own cars, wear them, so i think, it should be ok. Any top is good as long as you avoid the strappy ones. Sleeveless tight tops should be ok. Take it as the maximum limit

Enjoy your stay in Delhi !!

Avoid anything too tight. Speaking with some (not personal) experience at least in my workplace, do not jump on the salwar kameez badwagon until you have been here for awhile and gotten to know your colleagues. Depending on when you come, the whole attire thing may be quite a challenge, as it starts to get really hot in April and doesn't stop til several months later.. and you'll feel like wearing very little at all! I do wear knee length skirt-suits to work occasionally, but feel more comfortable in longer skirts. G'luck!
in vino veritas
