Please I hope you guys may be able to help me save some time and searching for the answer.

The question is, does a foreign ( British ) Director of an Indian incorporated company need to apply for an Entry Visa or a Business Visa?

I have been asked to join a company as a Director and am wondering about the Visa required.

Any advice and pointers would be greatly appriciated.

I suppose the question after this is CAN a foreigner register as a Director?

Any tips would be great.

Thank you.

This might be late in coming, but I was a Director in an Indian company (which I incorporated myself, actually). You will need a business visa. Be warned that as a foreigner on business visa, you can only earn money as dividends and sitting fees for board meetings.
If you are a director, you can write an invitation letter yourself, inviting yourself to India :-)
