Hi to everyone,

I am an Indian non muslim man residing in Abu Dhabi. I want to get married to a girl of moroccan nationality who is also residing in Abu Dhabi. I have read a number of forums on the internet from the Special Marriage Act 1954 to foreigners marrying moroccans but none of them apply to me. Is there anyway I can get my marriage solmnized.

Please help.

Do this -
  • Visit Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, ask for advice !
  • Visit Mauritius Embassy and inquire about the details for a destination wedding !
  • Do the same for Sri Lanka!
  • How many days of vacation time do you have ? And how many does she have ? Why ? SMA needs residency ! So getting married in India undr SMA is time-driven!
  • Find an Island where Brits colonized, which is also a tax haven - Good Odds are that they have a legit 24-72 hour wedding plan.

Thank you for your reply. We both generally get 30 days annual leave which can be taken in slots of 5 days. Do the weddings in Mauritius and Sri Lanka considered legal weddings ? Which islands are you referring to ? Will the wedding over there be legal too ? Sorry but I am very confused now.

I think you can get married under the "Foreign Marriage Act" in the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. However, you should ask them for advice as nycank already mentioned :-).

Foreign Marriage Act procedures at the Indian Embassy is do-able, provided spouse to be gets permission from her Embassy in Abu Dhabi, plus a newspaper adv. of no objection

Hence my missive - "Visit Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, ask for advice !"
