I am an Indian citizen residing in US for the past 1.5 yrs on Work Visa. My would be husband is also an Indian citizen residing in US for the past 2 years on work visa.

We want to do court marriage in US. we are planning to do Social marriage but that will be in like a year or so.

Now my questions are, is it possible for Indian citizens to get married in US? If yes, does India respects the court marriage done here? If yes, what is the process to register marriage in India? Is there any difference in doing court marriage in India and in US for India citizens?

Yes, Yes, Yes.

Go to City Hall. Get a license to get married. Rules vary from county to county.

Get witnesses they require and say I do, and kiss the spice. Witnesses will attest. You are legally married. Your certificate, you get attested by Indian Consulate in Seattle !

I presume that means for US citizens to get married in India.

Forgive a somewhat cynical type. I always prefer something of a warning label. However, to the query I found it amazingly easy to marry in India (at least in them days). What comes afterwards is the challenge..
