welcome to the club indianina.

Acco- Huge choice in gurgaon. DLF / Unitech apartments are midrange and offer fairly good features and security. Most of them have pools and what they call health club..

Few expats who work in gurgaon lives in vasant vihar area as well, especially the ones with kids, as they have international schools in those areas...do let me know more about what u are looking for and i may be able to help more..cheers

Micky

place - nice place, good amount of greenery, traffic ok except at peak times in and out of delhi, roads - mainly all good, Food - lots of restaurants and delivery places, Rentals - depends on what you need but there are more property consultants than you could speak to in a lifetime. Never been to Bangalore so can't give you a comparison but Gurgaon is clean, has good shops, resto's, bars and a couple of clubs and it's easy to get into and out of Delhi. Ping any specific questions to me on a PM...I have some photo's of Gurgaon if you want to see them etc.

gurgaon.....

hi mike!

when it comes to gurgaon it depends on what you're looking for- if you want convenience and accessibility to shops/restaurants/cinema with minimum hassle then it's def a good place to be! But if you're looking for a place with a strong identity and character then this ain't the place- i find it a little souless at times, but then it balances with convenience of supermarkets and being able to live safely and relatively privately in appartment blocks, sheltered from water and power cuts due to back-up systems etc. I miss the character of Delhi and also diversity in cutural options, but this is slowly improving here.

I agree with Stuart about traffic and rentals. I find that it is not that easy to get furnished appartments that are affordable as most people bring the furniture with them, but there are plenty of options for brokers etc. There's also a forum site called gurgaonscoop that has lots of information on that kind of thing as well as much more.

Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions!

Pi

Just saw this thread.
Moved to Gurgaon (from Dlehi) 2 months back and we are enjoying living here.
Adding to what Stuart said, Gurgaon has more open spaces than bangalore, traffice is much better, more compact in size than Bangalore so easy to go from one area to another.
The only area where Bangalore score over Gurgaon is weather.

Hey! How about a Gurgaon Meetup? Any one interested?
