Hi
Going for a short Hydrabad trip in February 2016. Will be staying there for 3 days. I have included Hydrabad city tour, Ramoji Film City & Golconda Fort each day with other nearby tourist spots. Kindly advise where to stay in Hydrabad. I am looking for budget accomodation around 1000-1500 per room from where I can get to the local markets easily in spare time. Any hotels around Secunderabad railway station ? Will it be convenient for me ? Do I have to book a cab or is there any public transport available for Ramoji & Golconda & from where can I avail it ? Any other good places of interests which I can visit !!
Thanks

Cant help with the hotel but TA should have some recommendations. The bus system is quite good. Both Golconda and Ramoji are easily reachable by bus. Ask around. Best place is Charminar area along with Salar Jung.

Help needed for Hyderabad trip

There are no good hotels around charminar area as far as I know.for your purpose, stay around Abids area, from where you can easily reach the old city and markets.take a bus till Afzalganj and walk towards Charminar/lad bazar to get the feel.

Many hotels available near Secunderabad railway station.
There are four bus stops near Secunderabad station for reaching different places. So you can get buses to any place from Secunderabad easily.

Abids is a more central place. Taj Mahal Hotel, Abids is a good place stay as well as dine. It has very good veg andhra food and has distinctly heritage ambiance.

You will be near to the shopping areas as well as the tourist sights.

In case you need to travel from the Old Hyderabad Station (Nampally), it will be a short auto rickshaw ride.

Secundrabad railway station will be 30-45 mins. by auto from this place. You will be within easy reach of the third railway station in Hyderabad too - Kachiguda. (20 mins by rickshaw).

Friends, may I reach Ramoji film city and return back by a regular city bus, if I stay at the Abids area of Hyderabad? Where do the regular city buses for the Ramoji film city start from?

I was waiting for the Capn to comment on the traffic in Hyderabad these days. What with all the construction and congestion I found it much longer than might be expected to travel across town. He had some experience in that regard as well...
