ECNR Stamp not there in passport

Hi All,

I got the new passport recently but i don't have any ecnr stamp in that. the Ecnr stamp is required or not. If required, Can any one help me how i can apply for that.

Please write out abbreviations in full when you use them for the first time in a thread. I had to google "ECNR". You could have done the same and received as first hit

ECNR is now the default. They would have stamped your passport if EC was R.

I got the passport in 2004. At that time the ECR stamp was there but I dint notice that much. But at that time i was diploma certified. I may get the onsite oportunity in few days. To Any location. what i the procdure of this link.
