Dear friends,

We are a group of friends and family from Mumbai (adults in the 35 - 50 age group and kids between 8 - 18). We are planning a trip to Hyderabad in the last week of December.

Here is my draft itinerary. Would really welcome suggestions / comments.

Day 1 Dec 25 afternoon onwards : Birla Science Centre, Birla Mandir,

Day 2 Dec 26 - Ramoji Studio

Day 3 Dec 27 Morning : Kulpakji jain temple (2 hrs from Hyd) and evening : Husain Sagar Lake, Budhha Statue, Lumbini Park, Laser Show,

Day 4 Dec 28 - Golconda Fort, Qutub Shahi Tombs, Chowmahalla Palace, Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Laad Bazaar (shopping)

Day 5 Dec 29 Morning and afternoon : Sudha car museum and Salar Jung museum; early evening free for shopping and later return to Mumbai by Duronto (11 pm)

How does the above itinerary look? Is it too hectic?

Is there any must-see attraction that should be included? (NTR Gardens, Surendrapuri, any other?)

Eager to hear from destination experts on the above questions, any other suggestions / comments welcome too.

Many thanks.

The Faluknama Palace is worth consideration although its not a value proposition. A meal gets you a tour of some of the public area only. I haven't had the urge to stay there. The bookstore is an attraction there..

Thanks friends for the suggestion on Faluknama palace and the link. Can someone also please tell me their view bit about Surendrapuri. I heard its a good museum, bat far from the city. Can I think of clubbing it with Kulpakji (Kolanupaka) temple. Is Surendrapuri somewhere on the way between Hyderabad and Kulpakji? or in a totally different direction?

Also, any recommendation on a bus operator in Hyderabad?

Thanks so much.

Dear Aarosh,
Is visiting Ramoji film city an expensive idea? May not we (me, wife and daughter) visit it @ Rs 1000/- per head? Is the food inside very expensive? I shall like to visit the basic areas only and not go for any costly ride. Is it possible?
Regards,
Rahul

Can't say. I think it amazed the Capn that I stayed next door and didn't go there. Boy would have loved it. Next trip..

Food. just a short walk to the left of the entrance is Paradise, in name and reality, must return, must return. Careful of the sidewalk..
