From the folks at Matador Network in the p**s off series: How to p**s off an Indian

Compare Indian players to Australian players, then raise it up a notch by saying that you think Australians are better cricketers.
Any more ???

[BTW: There are lists of a few other nationalities too at that site ]

I must confess that more than a few have asked how i speak good English. A few asked if I had studied in England and an ex-boss of mine commented that I must have had a good education.

When I saw the thread title, I thought I'd post:

"Oh, gee, you speak very good English."

But Kabaary beat me to the punch.

Remember, it's when people no longer think it necessary to compliment you on your good English (German, French or anything else) that you have made the mark!

That's why Indians who have already "made the mark" find it insulting!

Oh right. Jag-you-are then!

ps... I do know Jag, and no, he has never attempted to sink his teeth into my throat. We've met at several IM meetups, and he has never torn off anybody's arm for his lunch.

Mind you, I don't think we've been to a non-veg place yet!

If monkeys & mongrels count - I did!

As for 'you speak good English' - I often have used this line. Only when/where appropriate though and mostly to give a shot of confidence to those who struggle with speaking the language.

Of course, Indians are equally gracious with those who attempt and struggle to speak Hindi. Just try uttering a few words sometime - even a 'namaste', 'pani', or 'hai' - will often draw an ' Oh!, you speak very good Hindi' response.
