Hey guys,

I shall be travelling to Himachal Pradesh in June.

Some Places that I have in mind are:

1) Dharamshala
2) Mcleod Ganj
3) Spiti Valley
4) Manali (probably Kasol)

Questions I had in mind regarding the places/travel:

1) Can you tell me specific places to visit in these cities? I am not looking for touristy spots, but places that will help me closer to nature.

2) Cheap but good lodging? Preferred outside the city/in the mountains/off beat

3) Nice Places to eat in these areas

4) Any other place that you would recommend instead of these classical touristy places? I would prefer going there.

Do let me know.

Looking forward to hearing back from you guys

Abhishek

I've moved your query to Himachal sub. There's plenty of info therein, read some threads and also, search within this subforum.

as you are not interested in touristy spots i would recommend doing whole tribal sector (kinnaur/ lahaul/ spiti). Try to postpone your trip to late june/ early july as roads will be open by then. start from shimla and end in manali. a week should be good. you will find quite a few travelogues for this trip here so gathering info should not be a problem.
