I am planning a week long journey to Spiti Valley with my wife in August. I would like to do a round trip Shimla-Spiti Valley-Manali.
I believe I would have to hire a Jeep/Innova/Sumo for this trip.
Any idea, how much is the cost per day for hiring such a vehicle for this trip?

It doesn't take too much research to come up with a taxi operation that you can contact? I don't know how current these rates are so you'll have to check it out. e.g.

Contect No. for Vinkal at Shimla :9459262520.
He took us to Kinnaur and Spiti in June for 12 days. Pick-up and drop at Chandigarh.
He is a good driver. He is polite and a nice guy. He has a Innova and a Scorpio.

I used his Innova but I would recommend a Scorpio as it will take you to places with much more ease.

It sould cost your around 2700-3000 per day all inclusive for 7-10 days. Less for more number of days.

You can give him my referrence.

Regard

Thanks Dinesh for the information and it's good to get a first hand good contact.

Thanks Paleface for the information!
I agree. It doesn't take that much just to google things and certainly I can find those links in a jiffy really. But the reason I post it here is that I get good first hand information. What's the use of a booking a taxi online/over the call and ending up with a rude/uninterested driver for a great location like Spiti.
