Hello friends!
I am planning to visit Narkanda this Christmas from Delhi. I will take a bus from ISBT to reach it. My travel plan is as follows:
24th December: Catch the Bus
25th December: Reach Narkanda and check into a hotel/homestay/guesthouse
26th December: Sightseeing
27th December: Catch the overnight bus for Delhi

Now what I'd like to ask you experts is that how to go about it.

First of all:
Is it possible?

If it is then:
Q1: Is there a direct bus or do I need to reach Shimla first?

Q2: If later is the case? What are the means available to reach Narkanda from Shimla?

Q3: Should I book bus ticket in advance?

Q4: I am traveling with 2 companions and our budget is very limited and we'd like to book a hotel/homestay/guesthouse under 1000K (Which I have done countless time before), but since its Christmas time I was wondering is it possible?

Q5: Which all places we should visit.

Q6: Are there short treks like what Triund is to Mcleod?

Q7: What are the nearby excursions (2-6 hours)

Q8: Will we experience snowfall?

Q9: Better still; are there camping places nearby to pitch one's own tent?

Q10: Also, do we need to carry our tents or can we rent them in Narkanda or somewhere nearby?

Q11: Is it doable in less than 3K budget per person

Q12: Any alternate ideas (I am looking for less crowded off the beaten path hill stations where I could undertake a short trek (Nature Walks)? I have already done Triund, Nag Tibba, Prashar Lake and Chandrashila Deoriatal)

Q13: How about Shoghi?

I'd have rode my bike if not for 3 of us but still I'd love to visit Narkanda this long Christmas weekend. Any advice would be most welcome.

Replies from personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Nikhil Chandra

You can take a bus going to Rampur and get down at Narkanda.

You can trek to Hatu peak.

Room under Rs 1000 could be a challenge.

HRTC runs ordinary and Himgaurav (TATA - AC) buses from Delhi Kashmiri Gate ISBT to Narkanda. Advance booking can be done

You probably have to increase your budget.

Snowfall chances would be always there.
