Places to visit in December

Hi,

I am planning a trip in december to Shimla and near by places. I need some suggestions of some offbeat places which i can visit during 1 week visit.

I have heard of some places like Kufri and Chail. What other places can be covered in that time frame.

Secondary question (saves me from opening up a new thread)

I'm thinking of something on similar lines and so far understand that Rewalsar is a good option. Rewalsar would warrant not more than 2 days. So where can I head up next?

I'm very much interested in Karsog Valley for now, with the two treks of Kamru Nag and Shikari Devi. But, I will mostly be traveling solo. Would it be possible?

Kufri and Chail aren't exactly offbeat, they receive a regular flood of tourists although fewer in winter than summer.
Do you want to stay at other places or only do day trips from Shimla?



Nothing stopping you from going to Karsog. You will have to come back to Ner Chauk or Sundarnagar for onward transport.

Are the treks doable in December? Solo?

check for Sarahan and if you visit, try to book yourself into Hotel Shrikhand Cottage in advance.

Depends on whether it snows. I can't tell you whether it will snow and if yes, how much.
HPTDC has a hotel at Chindi. You could call them from Rivalsar to check on trek conditions.

how will be Karsog in January last week?
I'm planning to visit below places in last 2 weeks of January, is it good idea to visit these places during this time, as i will be travelling by public transport throughout my trip
