Hi

I have been looking for a volunteer placement in India for a while now and think I have finally settled on staying in Palampur for August, before travelling around the country. I realise it may be a bit more touristy than other places, but as I can only travel in summer I think I will have to wait til next year to visit hotter regions.

I gather from the climate chart that this will be in the late monsoon season..can anybody tell me what that is like in Himachal Pradesh? Also, I have read a bit about the danger of landslides - what is the real risk?

Thanks for any advice!!

It will be monsoon season but Palampur is not too commercial as compared to other popular hill stations.. Whats your real intention of coming to Palampur ?
A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.
