Hi all the members
I want to visit "Land of God" himachal in April-May 2016 for my Honeymoon. I read some posts regarding Kinnour-Spiti Tour.
My tentative Itinerary for Summer tour is as follows:- Day 1: Hwh to Kalka(Kalka Mail)
Day 2: Kalka to Simla(Shibalik Express) and Simla Local Site seeing.
Day 3: Fagu-Kufri-Naldehra HPTDC local site tour
Day 4: Shimla to Manali and local sight seeing
Day 5: Rothang Pass, Solang Vally HPTDC local site tour
Day 6: Manali to Sarahan via Manikaran
Day 7: Sarahan to Sangla
Day 8: Sangla to Chitkul to Kalpa
Day 9: Kalpa to Tabo via Nako
Day 10: Nako to Kaza/Rangrik via Dhankar
Day 11:Kaza to Ki-kibber and retuen to Kaza
Day 12: Kaza to Kalpa
Day 13: Kalpa to Kalka

Now i have some questions in mind

1. How much it cost me if I hire a small cab(swift D'zire) for 7-8 days(from day 6 to day 12 or13)?
2. Is my itinerary is possible during this season?

Please suggest me if anything you want to add or remove as i have never travel himachal before, actually i got inspired to travel kinnour and spiti due to this travel site and i have to plan my itinerary this way due to "Kunzum Pass" is closed until june and its not possible for me travel this time.

I would suggest better go to Manali direct from Kalka because as per your itinerary you are touching Shimla twice.

You can cover Naldehra,Kufri and Shimla while returning from Spiti n Kalpa.

Spiti will be under snow in April most likely.

Manali to sarahan via manikaran in one day would be too strenuous. I would suggest manali to sarahan via jalori pass. Through pristine great Himalayan national park.

If you're going in end of April/start of may, then route from Simla side will be open all the way till Kaza/Key at least and till Losar if you're lucky. The manali (over kunzum) wont be open certainly. Have a look at my TR (in signature) for some idea and photos of the places you intend to see. In two weeks I'd advice you to drop the manali side completely and instead stick with Shimla / Kinnaur / Spiti legs. There's enough to see and enjoy. You may even cover pin valley.

Thanks@vaibhav arora for your suggetion regarding skiping manali leg, actually as it is our honeymoon tour and my wife is very fond of snow, i included manali in our itinerary. I do read your TR shimla kinnaur spiti busventure and its an awesome TR and actually its one of those TRs that motivate me to go himachal in our honeymoon tour.

Do you have any idea about hired small car?

Isn't Kaza route open from Shimla Throughout the year?

Thanks

That's what I said in my previous post. Its open from Simla side but not from Manali year round.

You'll find more than enough snow on the ground in chhitkul, pin and spiti. The only concern with including Manali is that the plan will become needlessly hectic. Road leading to chitkul from sarahan is quite bumpy so give yourself the gift of time. Its your honeymoon after all.

Yes! Go through the TR and towards the end you'd find two contacts - one is of the hotel I stayed in at Kaza, he can arrange for a guide for pin. The other is the guide himself who runs a homestay at Pin called Tara homestay. They're quite helpful people.

Thumbs up

@i.am.rick

You can get Swift D'sire @ Rs.2300/- and Sumo @ Rs.2400/- to 2500/-.

As per iterinery ou have to come back again Kinnour (kalpa) on the way back.

As it is your honeymoon trip you can spent 2 days in Sangla and 2 days in Kalpa to make your trip comfortable.

I completed Simla-Kinnour-Manali in last week of Sept.-2015.

You may contact Madan Lal (H.P. Govt. registered Driver (08894979493) directly or can contact Trshool Tours-N-Travels, Simla.

For budget accomodation you may contact with Allahabad Bank Employees Credit Co-operative Society. They have good arrangment in Kinnour area (Simla too). For Spiti area you may contact with Devlok Group of Hotels (Tarun Saha).

For details you can click http://www.indiamike.com/india/himac...015-a-t240256/ and http://www.indiamike.com/india/himac...015-a-t231921/

Wish you happy journey,
Regards.
