Hi fellow IM junta

I have time off from Nov 11-22
and would like to visit Losar, Kibber, Kaza, Tabo.

Is this wishful thinking or is it possible?

I am traveling alone and would like to take busses (super budget) on all routes. Are government busses avialable on these routes during that time?

Should I book accomodation beforehand?

If this is not possible, would invite other suggestions. I want to be in a place which has as few people as possible. Want to get away!

If there is no recent snow. Then Yes ! Its doable. Never book accommodations if you travel alone in this area. Especially in November. !
You will have ample of places to stay in november in spiti. Take loads of woolens though. If you start from Manali to kaza then you wont get any government buses. They close their cycle on the 15th of october on this route. Only way possible to enter Spiti is via Kinnaur in November. The HRTC buses do ply here till late. Subjective to snow or weather conditions.

Thumbs up Thanks

thanks for that Lucid!

Do you suggest I inquire about the snow just before setting off?

Is it advisable to camp out at those places? Can I take a winter tent and sleeping bag?

Thanks for your replies!

Till Kaza, I believe you would surely get something or other to stay but Losar, I doubt, it's having very few options even in season time, not sure how things would be in Nov, but there is a superb PWD GH there in Losar.

As Lucid mentioned, don't try to prebook at all. You have enough of options to choose from (subject to condition those hotels don't close themselves and come down during that time). But Nov 11-22 doesn't seem to be that extreme either.

I am sure it would be a nice trip to enjoy, yes make sure you call someone there to get current condition before proceed.

Please reply

I never went around to this trip (went to kerela instead).

But now May-Jun, I might just pack a tent and head to this long desired land.

My question is can I do lahaul spiti completely in a tent? Is it safe overnight? Is it legal to camp, what kind of spots are legal?

Please help...

Thanks!
Sidd.
