Since the snow would not have melted fully in the upper reaches of the valley, you can expect cold evenings & nights upto early morning, till sun breaks out.... so carry some wollens.... in case of western disturbance, you may also get snow... keep checking this site...

If road conditions permit me to drive a compact car there, I shall be in Sangla for 2-3 days, sometime in the week of 19 Mar. I shall be back to Delhi on 23 Mar. THEN, you can ping me to get photos, weather updates, etc. I shall update the road condition info and videos at http://www.indiamike.com/india/ladak...kh-t12491/101/

Stakeholders informed the DC about the problems and challenges and tried to find out its solution.

He said mobile toilets and the parking facility at Hamta had been arranged and tourists could now go to explore this place. Only 200 vehicles a day would be allowed to go to Hamta but he said the administration would try to increase this limit - here is the link to the news - http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/him...ts/558238.html

Thousands of devotees thronged the temple, which has been decorated with flowers and lights, on Day 1. According to the legend, a local devotee, Mai Das, was blessed by the diety, who later found a stone idol below a banyan tree and began worshiping it. Kullu admin allows more vehicles to Hamta Pass
Mandi, March 19

Villagers ask tourists, shopkeepers not to pollute Hamta Pass
MANALI: With the opening of the Hamta Pass as an alternate tourist destination to Rohtang Pass, concerns are now being raised about maintaining ecological balance of the area.
As hundreds of tourists are reaching here every day, the villagers in the low-lying areas worry that increased tourism can result in consequences similar to those as faced by the Rohtang Pass. To counter the negative effect of increased human activity in the snow-clad area, the local villagers have formed Hamta Paryavaran Suraksh Samiti to keep a watch on tourist activities and environment conservation.
They have also started educating shopkeepers, taxi drivers and tourists to resort to responsible and eco-friendly tourism to protect the ecology of area - here is the link to the news - https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/63457317.cms
