Hi,
I am currently in Rohru.

We wanted to hike up to Hatu Peak on the 4th.

Any hotel recommendations near Hatu Peak?
Budget : up to 2000 per nt.

Is it worth staying at Narkanda? Looks like it is a truck stop based on what I am reading on the internet.

I read that one can camp overnight at Hatu Peak. Is this recommended? Do we have to carry our tents or do they provide it at the peak.

Cheers!

Hello

Hello,

Hatu Peak is a great place. Its possible for you to hike up and put your tents near the temple. Though I would recommend taking the bend on the top and walking towards Jaubagh meadow. Thats the place.

Narkanda at the outset does seem like a stupid, truck stop, but dont underestimate it.

The vicinity is breath takingly beautiful.

Try Tethys .. Good property right in the middle of a forest, and possibly they can , I am sure they can arrange =for a night stay at jaubagh. Run By sanjeev dogra (094184-60243)

I hope you liked Rohru .. Only if you went towards Chirgaion side ..

Cheers and Regards,
Dhananjay

Hey Dhananjay,

Thanks a ton for recommending Tethys.
We are really enjoying our stay here.
Excellent location, rooms, and service.

We trekked to Daru village in the afternoon - excellent route.
We plan to trek up to Hatu Pk & Jaubagh tomorrow morning.

Cheers,
Madhu

Hi Dhananjay,
It was a great stay. We had an issue with our data card - hence we are a tad behind with our posts. In fact, I was in Shimla to fix the data card and saw Park Cafe. We thought we'd stop by and say 'hi'. Looks like it is closed for renovations.
Cheers,
Madhu

hotel hatu is a good bet and it is a great walk from there HPTDC place to the summit. The town seems like a shitty truck stop but the surrounding area is way more impressive and scenic than Shimla ever will be.
Why stay at home when you can see the world?

For those looking for a cheaper option, Hotel Mahamaya (right in the middle of town) is good value for money. We stayed there on our way out. Decent rooms for sub 1000.
