Three California travelers have the good fortune to find ourselves in India during the DL's 70th. First time in India, we are coming from Thai/Cambodia. Two weeks in India and then to Dharamsala for our last few days.

Are guest houses sold out? We are traveling free of real plans -- and realize that this might be a problem in Dharamsala due to the crowds. That said, everyone will manage I am sure. Is anyone going to be there?

Suggestions!
Hurrah.

Isn't Dharamsala in India ? So easy to get carried away by the heavy Tibetan influence, isn't it?

The Tibetans are refugees and D'sala is very much a part of India, friend!

Hi

Hi,
It has been felt over the years that Dharamshala is only an attraction because of the Tibetan Influence which focuses itself more in McLeodganj ... People have over the years ignored areas in the Kangra valley which are also as beautiful and pristine .... maybe one of the reasons why tourism in Kangra suffers .... and Shimla it is true ... Mcleodganj is not viewed by many as Indian .... where it is as Indian as Varanasi ..... Maybe it is just people feel more at home there .... anyways .....

Cheers,
Dhananjay
