Hey Delhiwala... I am planning to go out somewhere this month.. You are surely one of the most experienced amongst all of us. What is your best weekend getaway from Delhi..
A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.

You could have PMed delhiwala to ask him..but anyway- IMO binsar is the best place out of delhi and it's not at all far away-just a nights journey followed by 3-4 hrs of driving.

Dear Traveller on wheels,

I do make a no. of posts but that doesn't necessarily make me most experienced.

And I don't have any one single best Weekend destination.

In Uttar Pradesh - Mathura, Agra, Vrindavan & Bharatpur
In Madhya Pradesh - Orchha, Kahjuraho, Sanchi & Bhimbetka
In Garhwal, Uttarakhand - Haridwar, Rishikesh, Musorie, Dhanolty
In Kumaon, Uttarakhand - Corbett, Nanital & surrounding area
In Himachal Pradesh - Dharamshala, Shimla, Kasol
In Rajasthan - Ajmer Shareef, Pushkar (The lake is dry now)
In J&K - Vaishno Devi
In Punjab - Amritsar & Wagah

I like hills & mountains more, so that's where I go most.
I did not fully understand the dread term "Terminal Illness" until I saw Terminal 1 D of Delhi Airport.

For HP you would need to go far off- it's more of a long weekend type of holiday. Naggar, solang valley in HP are the best. Just take a bus from delhi to manali. But you would need 3-4 days.
Bundi and jhalawar in rajasthan are another of my favourite, again a long weekend place.

orchha is quite a place. you may also visit khajuraho from there. may start the journey at gwalior which is not bad either though not a very popular tourist destination and more of a business hub i think.
Thanks,
Deep

Neemrana has a property at Kesroli near Alwar(2 hours from gurgaon) for a quiet weekend. I love it.

Bhangarh near Sariska(2 hours from Gurgaon) combined with night halt at Sariska sanctuary, is a great experience for those who love a deserted medeiaval town at the base of a hill, with beautiful fort, temples and a baoli(water body). Ruins and old banyan trees with many langurs and hardly any people.

Orchha, of course is a favorite anyday and so is the chambal safari on Fatehabad road 70km from Agra.
Alone I walked. Strangers joined in. We became a caravan.
