Hi

my teeth are terrible , and I would like to get some dental implants ,
probably 80% top and bottom

Have you done that in India ?

what country are the implant pieces made , since they will be in my mouth 20 years plus ( I am 63 now ) I really do not want problems ,

as I understand it , you need to get the implants put in , then wait 3 months or so to make sure everything is OK and then return to screw in the teeth ,

Anyway if you know a good place that is in a nice town since I will need to stay there a few days each trip please let me know ,

Cheap flights from bangkok are a plus

thanks for your advise

This guy has been mentioned here with good reviews. He's in Goa. Here's his site with prices.

Welcome to the site, bkkdreaming.

I have a dentist in Chennai, who has done all sorts of other work for me, since 2004, but not yet implants --- I do have two, that were done in London.

As far as I know, the implants are imported, so you may well get the same here as you would in USA. Of course, that is going to make the implant the same price, but the surgery/dentistry will be a lot cheaper. Perhaps you may pay a tourist premium to tourist-friendly dentists. But when I last asked, out of curiosity, it the answer was very substantially less than I had paid in UK way-back-then. It's still not a small amount of Rupees though!

I went to a dentist last year in Goa and was quoted 3000.00 Canadian Dollars for implants .Probably 6 teeth in total . Went to my dentist here and was quoted at least 15000.00 the implants they use in Goa are from Germany same as the ones here .They like to have the plugs in one year the crowns the next or I have met people in Goa that came back after 3 months to have the job completed .

Lightbulb

Dr. Gomes has a good reputation here. Goa is a nice place to relax when coming for treatment. Have a cheap holiday. You deserve it!

P's. He's in Margao, 6km from the beach belt.

Hi, was that 6 implants and separate crowns ?

I have no idea how many implants it takes for the front 8 teeth , and a single line of teeth ,
is a single 1 tooth implant they put in just the threaded part and you are left with a hole there for 3 months or more until you come back ?

thanks for the info

I was calling a tooth one implant and I think I needed 6 and yes they just leave those little corks there until you come back in 3 months or in the next season . I guess that's a problem when it's front teeth.I had 3 lower back teeth on each side that they were going to do for that price .

I'm sure there are many permutations depending on the individual, the amount of bone available, etc etc. I have a three-tooth bridge supported by two implants. That is my upper front teeth. After the gum has healed, one can have a denture to fill the gap. These things have to be discussed and agreed with the dentist. It may even be good to get the views from two or three of them.

The major hospitals also have dental departments. That is an approach I was going to take to getting dental treatment here, but I got a personal recommendation from a mutual friend's doctor. It was an amazing coincidence: the dentist was next door to the guest house I was staying in at the time!

You'll get temporaries. See the dentist. It's much easier to ask who' s performing the work.

thanks for your ideas , I am in California and often in Thailand , but even Thailand is expensive for implants

so seeing the dentist first is not that easy unless they come here to go to Disneyland with the family
