Kind people of indiamike, I would be grateful for some feedback on my 11-day Gujarat itinerary.
I was considering fitting in Modera too, but I think that would be too much running around.
I am planning to stay at Desert Coursers in LRK (Zainabad) and Epicenter Homestay (Lodai) in GRK, and booking through airbnb for the rest, except Patan.

Day 1 (22 Dec, Friday): reach Ahmedabad in the evening. Leave for Zainabad. Reach on 22 night.
Day 2,3 (23, 24 Dec, Sat, Sun): Little Rann: 2 days.
Day 4 (25 Dec, Mon): Leave for Lodai (GRK) in the morning
(Zainabad to Lodai is 4 h 51 min (258.9 km) via NH947. )
Day 5 (26 Dec): GRK, 2 safaris.
Day 6: Lodai-Lakhpat-Bhuj by car
Day 7, 8 (28, 29 Dec): Stay in Bhuj. (Aaina Mahal, etc + crafts village in Bhujodi)
Day 9 (30 Dec): Bhuj to Patan (8 hrs). Night halt in Patan.
Day 10 (31 Dec) Explore Patan. Leave by 5 for Ahmedabad. (Patan to A'bad within 4 hrs. Lots of state buses through the day)
Day 11 (1 Jan): Explore Ahmedabad. Flight to Delhi

Many thanks
Romila

I'd recommend baking in Modhera at the expense of something else, perhaps Ahmedabad. Not that Ahmedabad is short of places to see, but perhaps you'd be able to make another trip for saurashtra and then the logical gateway is again Ahmedabad.
Also have you thought of dropping LRK and instead birding in GRK with CEDO? It gives you more time elsewhere and frankly your time in the upper lip is too short, you could do more time in those parts. Also have you done any bookings? This is for this year, isnt it?

Hi Vaibhav,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the trip is for this year. CEDO was booked, it was the first place I asked. In fact, Jugal Tiwari of CEDO connected me to Bharat Kapdi of Epicenter. I very much want to see the waders: flamingos, pelicans, etc in LRK, hence two days there. I am not that much into birdwatching that I would want to do it for 2 more days, I think, hence 1 day at GRK, which would include 2 safaris.
I agree with your logic about Modhera over Ahmedabad, but again, it's a fear of surfeit after Bhuj and Patan. I think I would like to do some city walking after spending over a week in far away places, though Modhera looks very grand. I also have great hopes from Bhuj.
Yes, have done bookings. Apple Residency in Patan and probably City Guesthouse in Bhuj, figuring out hotel/bnb for Ahmedabad.
Which places do you mean by the upper lip?

Upper lip of Gujarat - dhola vira, mandvi, nakhtarana, chhari dhandh, sorry don't have a map handy, recall plotting many more while researching this area. However if your bookings are done, no point seeking feedback on the itinerary, enjoy your trip!

There is room for change, hence the reason for seeking feedback on the itinerary.
Thanks for writing!
