Hello,

We are planning to travel from 25th to 2nd Jan, 2016 to Gujarat. We have booked Rann of Kutch for 1st.

proposed Iternary is:

25th - Arrival at Ahmedabad
26th - Local Ahmedabad
27th - Pavapuri , Mehsana, Modhera
28th - ? - to decide where to go..
29th - Bhuj - North of Bhuj places
30th Bhuj - Mandvi
31st - Bhuj - central Bhuj places
1st Rann of Kutch
2nd - Back to Ahmedabad

Can someone advise how is the iternary.?

Also , we have kids, and need some places where Kids will enjoy? Any suggestions.

Should we go to Dwarka? Gir National park, there is no booking available for this period.

Early response will be appeciated

Thanks
Praveen

Pavapuri teerth is a nice place and very few people go there. It is close to Abu road though, so I'd recommend you plan for a 2D/1N trip covering the following - Modhera, Patan, Pavapuri and Ambaji. This is easily doable. From that circuit leave for Bhuj and kutch. Try to get accommodation inside the teerth itself, google if they have a site.

Most of this will bore the kids (except pavapuri, where there's an elephant and some displays of village life). In Rann, try to go on the salt, that might interest them.

Dont bother with Gir without a booking, it can be very bad during last week of the year (people start queuing up from 2 AM for the morning safari!)

Post Akshardham

try to cover akshardham and don't miss water and laser show, it is amazing. phone, camera nothing is allowed to carry inside tample. They have good enough lockers where you can put your stuff which is secure as well.
Temple will be closed on Mondays.

on 28 you can consider Dholavira - Its an excavation site for Harrappan Civilization .
How old are your children? I recently went there with my 9 year old and she really njoyed the place as she had learnt about Harappa in school recently

I think you can explore Indroda Dinosaur and Fossil Park in Ahmedabad, if anybody(your kid) has interest for the same. Better check timing as I believe its closed on Sunday.
Dholavira is one good option again depends on interest.
Rann was full of water Till 3rd week of November.
Hope it helps.

Vadilal and Havmor have dedicated ice cream kiosks and larger parlors in many places in Guj. A minor incentive is it's a bit cheaper than non-Guj as they're headquartered in Ahmedabad and variety available in GJ is better than out of state.
