Hello friends.

This is my first post and require your help to set an itinerary for my trip to ahemdabad.

I with my family of 4.me my wife and 2 daughters one 16 years old and one 8 years.

We will be traveling from Mumbai to ahemdabad by my car.

So I prefer one day when we reach as rest day.

And the sight seeing would start from the next day morning.

We are planning to stay for 3 to 4 days (excluding Ahemdabad to Mumbai to and fro) then would leave back to Mumbai.

So friends help us for the following.

1. How many days should we stay at ahemdabad. 3 or 4?

2. Please provide us an itinerary in accordance to the number of days that you suggest.

3. Also suggest us hotels where we can stay at the and area where we should stay.

We are a gujrati vegetarian family. So also consider that while suggesting hotels.

Waiting eagerly for suggestions and help.
We will be leaving Mumbai on 1st November and back on 5th nov

You can stay all the days that you have in Ahmedabad. For places to see in and around Ahmedabad read the trip report in my signature.

1. How many days should we stay at Ahmadabad. 3 or 4?
- All days, unless you have a specific place to go to.

2. Please provide us an itinerary in accordance to the number of days that you suggest.
- There's a lot to do there, but depends totally on your taste. Apart from aarosh's report you can also go through my blog posts:
- Ahmedabad
- Adalaj
- Modhera and
- Patan
I'm more into architecture and find the Solanki Era stuff to be fascinating. A family might not always enjoy it.

3. Also suggest us hotels where we can stay at the and area where we should stay.
- Cant say precisely where to stay, but I imagine you would be better off avoiding the Lal Darwaza area

Yes aarosh, I syated at the Volga in the Lal Darwaza area. The hotel was good and I've no qualms about it, other than the Wifi not working near the window . Its just the Gujarati Family 'might' find that area a bit uncomfortable(?).
My parents were uncomfortable when we were strolling near the Teen Darwaza area, but I don't think that has many options for staying anyway. And the Lucky hotel too. Lets just say its not for everyone's cup of tea n maska bun.

Sorry for late reply as you already visited Ahmedabad but my answer will help other people to plan their itinerary.

You can stay here maximum for 2 to 3 days and can visit below places.

Day 1

- Early morning 5 AM drive to thol lake which is around 25km to 30Km away from Ahmedabad
- After returning from Thol Lake visit Adalaj Stepwell (It might take 2 hours overall time)
- Eat kathiyavadi food at dhaba (It will be best experience)
- Visit Sabarmati Ashram located at Ashram Road (Dandi bridge is just besides the Ashram)
- Visit Riverfront Ahmedabad which is also beside the ashram (Recommend you to visit during evening)

Day 2

- Visit Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar (30 Km from Ahmedabad)
- During day time try to finish visiting Jama Masjid, Sidi Saiyyad Zali, Bhadra fort and Hatheesing Jain Derasar.
- Visit Jagannath Temple
- In evening visit Kakaria Lake (Dont forget to attend laser show at Nagina Vadi)
- Enjoy Late night food at Manek Chowk (Open till 2 AM)

Day 3

- This can be your shopping day (Visit big malls, Lal Darwaja & Nehru Nagar for shopping)
- Enjoy the movie at Drive In cinema (Open air theatre)

Hope it will help.
