Hi all,

I'm travelling to India in June/July for 4 weeks with one other girl. We're working in a hospital in Orissa for 2 weeks, and then thinking of travelling to Goa. Neither of us have visited India before, and I'd really appreciate some advice on where to visit. The quantity of recommendations is overwhelming, its really hard to know where to begin when we only have such a short space of time.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Issie

It's just how our holiday times worked out. We're actually free to go where ever for th first 2 weeks in July, we thought Goa sounded cool. I had heard that the monsoon season wasn't that bad, maybe someone was having me on! We're Irish anyway, we're used to a bit of rain!

think about going to a hill station instead of Goa for some respite from the heat
Darjeeling or Sikkim may be wet but cooler or even Kodaikanal.

You will be in Odisha. Why not go to one of the beaches there. Puri will be quite in July.

Good one and i completely agree...You will definitely find rainy season there but you can be lucky to find it not raining all the time. I have been there last time in July and it only rained during first half of day and nights so you can have the afternoon and evenings.

Ab!

Well, we will be working in the hospital in Raipur, so I don't know if we'll get a chance to go to the beach but we'll try! We have no plans set in stone, we're are just going to go with the flow, which is why I posted on here!
