I usually wear sandals outside of the house, but I'd only gone to open the gate to let someone in .

Hey, bare feet are easier to wash than sandals! Not that it has anything to do with the cost of living Or renting out apartments even!!!

Thanks for the tips... really useful since I am going to spend New years in North Goa. I would look for official ads that are published in online portals... these take more care not to put you into any uncomfortable situations...

Ajay, the advice in this thread is for those who stay for months, not a few days

And if you plan on spending the next New Year in Goa, I would hope you have already booked?

Whew! Thankfully my house is already rented out. with all paperwork done. Now to sit back for at least a year. Unless the babus come up with a new rule.
