Houseboat..

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a good overnight houseboat trip? I know there are some on the Mandovi river or karnataka kali river - anyone been on these?. Don't want to travel too far south though.

Thanks.

That Cottage in the lake is called 'Houseboat'.

Shikara is a small boat to ferry people/goods between lake shore and the houseboat.

I did not fully understand the dread term "Terminal Illness" until I saw Terminal 1 D of Delhi Airport.

Pretty useless advice to someone clearly looking for this WITHIN Goa.............go to Kerala or Kashmir?

For goodness sake!

We stayed overnight on the Laidbackwaters houseboat on the Chapora River on 28th Jan 2017.
The boat moored up opposite a Hindu Temple and the Captain, Ramesh, disappeared to his home at 19.00 leaving us listening to an all night women's festival with chanting over a PA system literally all night, and I mean all night. They ended the festival with multiple discharges of fire crackers at half hour intervals between 04.30 and 06.00 whereby we hadn't managed a wink of sleep.
When we mentioned this to Ramesh upon his very refreshed return at 08.50, his crew confirmed the issue and we were then ignored.
When we complained to the booking agent and asked for some of our £80.00 each to be refunded Ramesh denied all knowledge of it and refused to co-operate.
The fact is, he knew there was going to be noise all night and bailed out to a more peaceful location when he should have stayed with his boat and moved it to a quieter location.
Disgusted isn't quite the word.
