I along with my wife is planning to visit GOA on Valentines weekend. We are still confused about north and south goa. Though she recommended Calangute, going through the forums it seems that its a crowded place and extremly commercialized. Palolem is another option suggested in many of the threads. We just have 2 days in GOA and want to make the best use of it. We are interested in some nightlife and watersports and also would like to have some good time together in beach. Also would like to visit some churches. Beach should be safe as well. Can anyone suggest some good options?

Many Thanks

Okies! Here's the deal!

If you wanna do sight seeing + have an activity filled weekend... then Calangute/Baga/ Candolim.... it is! Lots to do. Good night life. But with that comes crowded beaches and heavy commercialization. But sight seeing from here is possible.

Tip: Also a great Saturday night bazaar at Arpora (Next club cabana). NOT mackies saturday night bazaar which isn't that good. So go for the right one.

But is you wanna laze around in the beach, water sports and a great Saturday night party.... Then Palolem beach it is. No much sightseeing possible.

TIP: The Saturday night party which is called Silent noise is absolutely amazing.

Have fun folks!

Buddy Calangute is the best there's no looking back.. but u have a problem with crowded place also u want it safe which are contradictory...Night life is at its best in baga i.e tito's lane u will find ample discos and great night life also water sports are gr8 there and you will get all very cheap..baga & calangute are just neighbours 1 km away i.e you can say one. You can stay at calangute and hire a bike and head out for kerim beach which is very lonely and silent. Also when ever you want to go to churches head out for old goa just 23kms away..I had been to Goa many times and my last visit was for ten days so do bring out queries if you have more..

Thanks for the information

We are planning to cover both north and south in a span of 4 days. We are interested in beach huts. Could you suggest some good beach huts in and around palolem/calangute ? Considering that temperature is soaring in GOA, should we consider A/C guest house instead of it ?

For sure buddy without A/C it wont do in the period you are visiting as when you will be doing water sports or enjoying beaches you will encounter scorching heat or even xploring on bikes...hence A/C is suggested..you can have cottage type room with a/c..which will satisfy your requirement..and that will be available in calangute but i dont know about palolem..
