How would you travel from Ganpatipule to Mumbai? For a train you will have to come to Ratnagiri and then catch a train to Mumbai. So you would need to have a confirmed ticket. It would take any where from 7 to 9 hours depending on the train. There would be a direct bus from Ganapatipue however they may be 1 or 2. If you move to Ratnagiri then there would be more options. However by bus it would take around 10+ hours.

In Ganpatipule you could stay at MTDC. You would need to book early since it would be a long week end. There are Konkani huts right at the beach and normal rooms near the beach. See http://www.indiamike.com/india/mahar...5/#post1229269

Hi, you can be based in Panaji and explore north Goa, unless you are very particular about being near the beach. Anjuna, vagator and calanguate for water sports everything can be done staying in Panaji. Bom Jesus church is just 7 Kim's from city center. But how are you planning to move around in Goa? How much can be achieved depends on that. Public transport being pathetic in Goa! Water in doodhsagar is doubtful in January. So make a trip after due checks.

Do not try to do too much in a short while. As mentioned above, Goa needs to be enjoyed at leisure.

My rough suggestion -

Jan 20th - Saturday night bazaar at Baga or Arpora. (don't think Anjuna market day is saturday). Stay in Calangute/Baga
Jan 21 - Terekhol fort, arambol beach and evening at Baga beach. Even the proper Anjuna beach is very nice. Same stay
Jan 22 - Water sports at calangute, aguada fort and chapora fort. Same stay
Jan 23 - Old goa - this will take 3-4 hours if you do it completely (tour operators finish this in 1 hour max), spice plantation in or around Ponda along with the temples there (Mangueshi, Shanta Durga) . If interested you can visit Big foot museum and the old Portuguese house at Lotolim. You can visit Aquarium on your way back. Option of having dinner at Siridao beach shack. Stay at Panjim.
Jan 24 - Bambolim beach - safe water to play in, walking tour in old Panjim, Ritz classic for amazing fish in lunch, river cruise - you can have dinner at Sea pebbles at dona paula and spend some time at the jetty after dinner. Stay at Panjim.
Jan 25 - Palolem, Agonda beach for leisure lunch and Cabo de ram fort. You can have dinner at Martin's corner or at Fisherman's wharf at Cavelossim. Stay in South Goa.
Jan 26 - Leave for Kolkata.

Important thing while planning all this is your mode of transport. You will require own vehicle for all of this.
Sar Pass Trek , Rohtang, Munnar, Badrinath Kedarnath, Vaishnodevi, Goa, VOF, Kedarkantha, Kuari Pass, Brahmatal Trek

You can and will have to shift 24th evening to 25th evening. Not feasible to come to these places for food and go back - you can do that enroute to Vasco.

At spice plantation, you can enjoy the elephant bath or elephant ride. (if bath planned, then extra pair of clothes).

Thanks for the info..Ok, 24th Dinner we can do at Palolem itself. Enroute vasco what places we can cover including beach, lunch ?

Also will it be cost effective if we book car for the whole trip.In that case do you have any contact ?

For 25th - you can spend time at palolem/agonda beach - then leave for cabo de rama beach and reach Fisherman's wharf for lunch (it opens at 12pm), say by 1-2pm. Leisure lunch - spend time at Cavelossim beach - is beautiful.
You will get beaches and more beaches in South Goa, not much else.
You have the option of reaching Martin's Corner for dinner (but that would make two heavy meals in a short span of time).

As for cab - are you comfortable with self drive in a new place and do you want to do that - the person driving shall miss out of gazing out of the windows.. Could get you a number for that, not sure if he may provide a car to a new person.
Cab - no contacts as of now. I have always self driven.
Economical and comfortable to have a cab for the whole journey - imo!
