Hi everyone,

What is the likelihood of finding a place in Goa (either South or North) on the day around 29th December - 4th Jan? Looking for a room for two, paying 10 - 15 / 2000 INR per person per night. Have googled around, and have found places either out of budget or places haven't gotten back to me via email yet. Obviously would prefer to book in advance for peace of mind over this busy period, but should we not be able to, does anyone know if we're likely to find a place on the day we arrive?
We'd like to either stay in Anjuna, Calangute, Majorda, Benaulim, Agona or Palolem (or if anyone can recommend a beach I haven't mentioned yet, please do) and we'll be arriving from Kerala by train into either Canacona, Margao, or Thivim if we can stay in the north.

Thanks!

Could also try Failaka in Benaulim. Was there last year and it was only half booked at that time. The owner said he always kept some rooms available for last-minute guests.
Decent place with regular clientele, and well-situated in the centre, near the bus stand.

what, so the owner would refuse a guarenteed booking just so he could keep a few rooms aside for possible last minuiters?

Thanks for the tips! Got a place in Benaulim now. Ha, I have no idea where I got 2000 INR from. Definitely can't afford that - it's more than my daily budget!

If you are ok to stay at Vagator then try at Julie Jolly. They have 3 hotel sites in Vagator and you can check their availability from their website as well.
