Untill 2012 or so, I used to be a regular visitor to Goa. More than a decade earlier, I started coming to Goa on solo visits and then after marriage, my wife and I used to regular visit Goa. Some of our fondest travelling memories were in Goa. We used to come twice an year to chill out in Goa and almost all the times, we had a great time!
And then with the coming of our daughter into our lives, our priorities have changed and Goa become a distinct memory. Now that my daughter is a little old (three years), we want to reignite our passion for travelling and the first destination we have planned is Goa!
When my wife and I were visiting Goa, we never give much thought about where to stay, what to eat, or which places to visit. Now that our precious bundle of joy is travelling with us, I would like your inputs on the following:
• We are planning to come in the second week of August. Do you think it is the right time to visit?
• Please suggest a kids-friendly budget hotel (not more than Rs 2500 per day) in north Goa.
• If there are any places that your kids have enjoyed, please let me know.
Thanks for your help!
Travel, before you run of the time!!!

August. Do you think it is the right time to visit?
Hard to tell. Had two great trips at that time with only rare showers, fine food, and interesting people to interview. Last trip largely socked in. But, still decent. Even managed to interview an aging prostitute about the old days of Goa when rich forens "cultivated her company". My spouse helped immeasurably. Baba developed a bit of Bronchitis in the weather. Had excellent Bandog Fenny ("You will really relishit" from the label, space deleted). Can't swim because of the riptides. Helped drag in one unfortunate who drowned, gross. Reminded that once I attempted to do so in that season and was dragged back from the edge by tons of locals and pretty well tongue lashed by the inlaws as well. Now what is it that you want your family to see?

Ocean is nice to see, walking in sand, great food, forts to see,Tiracol and Chapora. And actually more if the weather cooperates, a museum Goa Chitra thats interesting, spice markets, a hippy bazaar that has seen better days, parasailing, a car museum near Margao. I love car museums so I sought that out in Hyderabad also. Of course, the falls with time..
