I wouldn't take £50 notes, not after thet £50,000,000 robery in Kent, police are expecting the money to be used overseas.

If enough warnings go out, you may find that only banks will change them, and Banks are not the best place to change money, they can be very slow.

Why not take travelers cheques instead? I was in goa for the whole of december and had no problems exchanging 50's and 100's plus they are a lot safer to carry about!

"I may be? but in the morning i will be sober, and you will still be ugly!" :yahoo:

Why not take an ATM card? It's easy, safe and convenient, and you get a good rate of exchange.

Take a little cash, but bear in mind that four of your £50 notes is more than many people earn in a year!

The cash has not been notified as having been withdrawn out of circulation so what difference does it make if you take £50 notes. Those money changers will stll take them.

After brinks-mat robbery people did not stop trading in gold. After that big robbery in NI the notes were withdrawn from circulation so I can only see it being a problem if there is a blanket withdrawl of £50 notes. With the numbers in circualtion the BOE may not want to undertake such a policy.

£50,000,000. I dont I would be going cattle class with that in my back pocket.[paniccow]

as for TCs my bank gets enough from me, the one with the black horse:mad:

I will be taking CCs as a back up.
