I arrive in Goa on the 25 and was thinking of staying in or around Anjuna, but I can't find a single place with rooms available. Does anyone know any place that is still available? I am a little worried because I am going by myself and don't want to be stuck.

Thanks so much!

When you say "I can't find a single place with rooms available" I assume that this is the result of an internet search?
What you are looking at is the tip of the iceberg as most Goan guesthouse are small family affairs and do not have websites.
Also your search will not reveal surrounding areas such as Vagator, Assagoa, Arpora and Siolim.
No doubt you have picked the busiest period, and prices will have been bumped up to crazy levels, but there will be places to stay. All the reports coming out of Goa at present suggest a major drop in self-contained foreigners (as opposed to charters, although only the Russian market seems bouyant)
You dont say how long you are staying, but if its more than a few days, just grab somewhere for a night or two and look around for your ideal place.....

hey

if you find nothing to stay till the date u arrive, just drop me a line. i know one guesthouse in goa, in Punjim. Atleast u can drop urself their, get fresh, then hire a bike, go to anjuna, find a place, and move to anjuna on next day!

All the best. I hope, till the date, you will find something!
Bon Voyage!

Johnny Five have you got a link to some stats for tourists this year? I like mulling over stats, would be interesting to see how Goa is doing in the recession.

Sorry Dave, no stats, they tend to appear later in the season (and tend to be total b*ll*cks anyway.....)

but talking to friends there, and reading other posts on various forums, it looks bleak. Also the charter prices from the Uk are ridiculously low to fill the seats, which tends to be a sign?

Reading the post, could it possibly be Anjuna? Just a guess of course.
