See if this works for you. I did this for my Agra trip report.

Aarosh, how do you find the numbers which I have put in bold in your quote from xxx.jpg which you uploaded?

Julia, if you try to edit the post you will see the attachment numbers.

I think I may have put a random number in the above case. I am not sure.

Thanks Aarosh. I was wondering if there was a way of knowing the attachment numbers before inserting them so that you could just type (ATTACH]number[/ATTACH) instead of using 'insert attachment' from the paperclip icon.

But anyway, it worked for me and I typed my text above and below the images as appropriate.

I think the attachment number is assigned by the site automatically.

Hi All,

What Aarosh has discribed is (in my knowledge) how photos can be attached using 'Paper Clip' option (or manage attachment option). This option is available when you are working on a post with ' Go Advance' mode. In this option, one can upload a photo even from own computer. Paper Clip option does not exists for Journal entry where I was trying to insert photos, there only "Insert Image' option is available.

What I have posted earlier therefore meant for using Insert Image option where [IMAGE] Photo Address [/IMAGE] kind of line is seen in the post being typed.
My Foreign Trips will have to wait, There is so much to See in here in INDIA itself

Travelogue-Pench Tiger Reserve, Kerla Over Land in Journal Section,
Sikkim ,Murud harnai by Road, Bhutan in 7 days

No. If you want to buy a cake at a shop, you have to pay for it before you get the cake. They won't give it to you free. Similarly, you have to upload photos first, before the system gives you the numbers. Got it?

No need to type . Reply to post will do that for you.

One has to use paperclip icon to upload photos, first. Remember buying a cake. Once the photos are uploaded, the forum will generate unique numbers (and address) for each photo and will give it to you, with ATTACH tags encircled. You don't have to do anything.

I am going to explain one more time. Please pay attention. ←

How to insert in-line photos in posts with text descriptions for each photo.

First, upload photos using paper-clip icon. Close the photos pop-up window. Click on paper-clip icon again. You will see this below photo: Click on 'Insert All'

When you click on 'Insert All', it will drop those unique numbers into the text area. See photo below. Now all you need to do is type text, before and after, each picture and move them around. See it is a piece of cake. ←

The final post with 3 photos would look like this → click here.

Thankyou for the tutorial RWe . I will remember this next time I am buying a cake .

What I did was instead of clicking on 'Insert All', I clicked on the individual photo file name I wanted in that dropdown box in your first screenshot. Then when I had done more typing and was ready to insert the second photo I went back to the paperclip and selected the photo I wanted.

The main thing is that it worked! After all there are many ways of mixing a cake but as long as it turns out well that's all that matters .

Looking for DELETE.

Say I have posted four photos using paperclip icon and later decided to delete first photo, how do I do that. I know it is easy but where is the hook? Thanks

You need click Edit on your post and then Go Advanced. Then open the Manage Attachments popup by clicking the down arrow next to the paper clip icon. Then scroll to the right and you will see a delete button next to each uploaded photo. The important thing is scrolling right otherwise you won't see the delete button.
